Looking Back on 2025: Strategic Progress by LHU’s Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance

As 2025 comes to a close, the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance at Lac Hong University (LHU), Vietnam, has marked a year of significant achievements—reinforcing its pivotal role in driving educational quality, international accreditation, and sustainable development.

Quality as Commitment, Integration as Strategy

With notable milestones such as LHU's inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, expanded participation in international program accreditation, and cross-border knowledge-sharing initiatives, the Office has contributed directly to strengthening the university’s academic reputation in both regional and global higher education networks.

1. Global Recognition and Reputation

As the unit responsible for directly implementing LHU’s quality assurance and accreditation strategies, the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance has played a pivotal role in positioning Lac Hong University among the 16 Vietnamese institutions featured in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025.

This achievement not only enhances the university’s profile within the global higher education landscape but also reflects the Office’s strategic capacity and dedication. From shaping academic directions to supporting implementation across departments, the Office has consistently driven initiatives that contribute to sustainable development across multiple dimensions—fully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

1. Quality Assurance and Accreditation

LHU is also among only 17 universities in Vietnam to have achieved institutional accreditation based on international standards—a milestone that highlights the significant role played by the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance in strengthening the university’s internal quality management system.

In the area of program-level accreditation, the Office continued to lead efforts in academic quality evaluation by securing AUN-QA certification for four additional master’s programs in 2025. To date, Lac Hong University has earned AUN-QA accreditation for 18 programs and ABET accreditation for two—figures that underscore the Office’s sustained commitment to aligning educational quality with respected regional and international benchmarks.

Beyond accreditation, the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance has also played a central role in fostering academic collaboration with both domestic and international institutions. Between 2023 and 2025, the Office facilitated several strategic agreements and technology transfers, notably the handover of a customized learning outcomes measurement system to Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Additional partnership agreements were formalized with Hanoi University of Industry and Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy—strengthening Lac Hong University’s position as a trusted partner in educational innovation.

These collaborations have not only expanded the Office’s academic influence but also demonstrated its commitment to innovation and practical application. Building on this foundation, the Office has developed a range of high-impact, adaptable solutions designed for diverse higher education environments. More than just affirming its technical expertise, the Office has actively contributed to disseminating LHU’s quality assurance model across Vietnam’s broader educational ecosystem. In doing so, it has helped elevate the university’s national visibility while reinforcing its leadership role in advancing education quality standards.

In recognition of its outstanding contributions in 2025, the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance was honored with the Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit from the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province. This prestigious award acknowledges the Office as a pioneering and innovative unit that has made meaningful contributions to Lac Hong University’s journey toward international integration and sustainable development in higher education.

Strategic Outlook for 2026

Building on the achievements of 2025, the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance has outlined a strategic direction for 2026 focused on strengthening Lac Hong University’s quality culture. Key priorities include maintaining the university’s standing in international rankings, advancing institutional and program-level accreditations aligned with global standards such as AUN-QA and ABET, and expanding partnerships and knowledge transfer in the field of quality assurance with both domestic and international institutions.

A notable focus for 2026 will be the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into assessment, evaluation, and teaching practices. This initiative will be supported by targeted training and innovative workflow enhancements—contributing to improved educational quality and further reinforcing the university’s reputation in the evolving landscape of global higher education.
